ROLE
As a Data Analyst specializing in Medical Economics, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting healthcare data to support decision-making, cost analysis, and strategic planning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare professionals, actuaries, and business analysts, to provide actionable insights that drive improvements in healthcare delivery and financial outcomes.

ROLE
As a Data Analyst specializing in Medical Economics, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting healthcare data to support decision-making, cost analysis, and strategic planning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare professionals, actuaries, and business analysts, to provide actionable insights that drive improvements in healthcare delivery and financial outcomes.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to healthcare costs, utilization, reimbursement, and other medical economic factors.
- Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to monitor key performance indicators and trends in healthcare economics.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide customized reports and analyses.
- Conduct cost-effectiveness analyses and financial modeling to evaluate the impact of various healthcare interventions and strategies.
- Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and efficiency in healthcare operations.
- Present findings and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in medical economics and healthcare analytics.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience with population health and ROI, risk or claims data is required
- Medical terminology and insurance terminology knowledge and understanding
- Must have Medical claims analytics experience – experience with CPT, ICD10 diagnosis, etc.
- Highly skilled with Excel – complex functions such as SUMIFS
- Must have advanced skills with SQL data development and reporting (can write their own queries and actively practicing this skill) - The platform they use now is Innovaccer, but that is not a requirement and is quite rare. Some experience with SAS could be helpful but mainly using SQL
- Excellent communication and reasoning skills; must be able to think through usability of the tools/reports being created
