ROLE

As a Data Analyst specializing in Medical Economics, you will play a crucial role in analyzing and interpreting healthcare data to support decision-making, cost analysis, and strategic planning. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including healthcare professionals, actuaries, and business analysts, to provide actionable insights that drive improvements in healthcare delivery and financial outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES
 
  • Collect, clean, and analyze large datasets related to healthcare costs, utilization, reimbursement, and other medical economic factors.
  • Develop and maintain data models, dashboards, and reports to monitor key performance indicators and trends in healthcare economics.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their data needs and provide customized reports and analyses.
  • Conduct cost-effectiveness analyses and financial modeling to evaluate the impact of various healthcare interventions and strategies.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, process improvement, and efficiency in healthcare operations.
  • Present findings and recommendations to internal teams and external stakeholders in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices in medical economics and healthcare analytics.



EXPERIENCE
 
  • Experience with population health and ROI, risk or claims data is required
  • Medical terminology and insurance terminology knowledge and understanding
  • Must have Medical claims analytics experience – experience with CPT, ICD10 diagnosis, etc.
  • Highly skilled with Excel – complex functions such as SUMIFS
  • Must have advanced skills with SQL data development and reporting (can write their own queries and actively practicing this skill) - The platform they use now is Innovaccer, but that is not a requirement and is quite rare. Some experience with SAS could be helpful but mainly using SQL
  • Excellent communication and reasoning skills; must be able to think through usability of the tools/reports being created

Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require hourly salary pay range disclosure: $60 - $74.
